Dr. Maneesh Gupta

Hello, welcome to our website. We devised this to give you a little look into our office before you come. It will give you a feel for who we are and a little of our background. Please use the site in it’s full capacity, we promise you won’t be dissatisfied. I grew up in Toronto and Scarborough , and did all my university education through the University of Toronto. I guess I bled blue for about eight years in getting through my undergraduate and Doctor of Dental Surgery. I opened this practice from scratch in 2004 and wanted it to be the kind of practice where patients of every age group could come to get a wide variety of services, in a family friendly environment.

We are not a high pressure, high sales kind of dental office. We do what we can to get you back into health, as fast as possible, in the least amount of pain for an affordable amount. I’d like to think we succeeded on all accounts as our patients are very loyal to us. Even the ones that move away still respect us enough to come back for their dental visits. I live within walking distance of the practice and most of the staff live within ten minutes of the practice. We are definitely a community oriented practice. We sponsor numerous teams, events and even go the local schools to give oral health seminars. You will find us at the local malls, grocery stores and recreational facilities. We love to see you outside the practice because it gives that heartwarming small town feel, a feeling of responsibility to the community and we are never ashamed of what we do. We are here to help, that’s our mantra. I myself have three children and in my spare time I run around after them. That’s about all the energy I have left, and if you have kids, you know exactly what I’m talking about. Dr Michael Dagenais

Hi, I’m Dr. Mike Dagenais but when I am at the office everyone just calls me Dr. D. I graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry in 2010 and have been working at Bur Oak Dental ever since.

I pride myself on being able to provide my patients with high quality dental care in a relaxed environment that will likely include several lame “dad jokes”. I have taken an abundance of continuing education courses to stay up to date with the most up-to-date techniques and materials in the fast-moving field of dentistry, as well as to broaden my scope of practice.

Currently, along with basic dental services such as emergency visits, fillings, crowns and root canals I am able to provide more complex treatments including but not limited to full mouth crown and bridge rehabilitation, implant restorations, Invisalign and administration of therapeutic Botox to treat the symptoms of tooth grinding and clenching.

I am very proud of the team we have built at Bur Oak Dental. From our clinical providers to our administrators, everyone strives daily to provide patients with a caring and straightforward experience from the moment they step into the office. I know you will feel the same when you visit our office, and if for whatever reason you don’t, please let me know!

When I’m not staring into mouths, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters and doing girl dad things such as attending dance recitals and struggling to put their hair up into a simple ponytail. I also enjoy playing golf in the summer and suffering as a Toronto Maple Leafs fan in the winter. I hope to see you soon at the office!

Dr Ronak Salimpoor

Hello, my name is Dr. Ronak Salimpoor. I grew up in Markham and attended the University of Toronto where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Doctor of Dental Surgery.

I have been at Bur Oak Dental for over a decade and have seen many families grow with us during my time here. Building relationships with patients and helping them with their oral health is my favourite part of being a dentist. I have a gentle mannerism that patients of all ages appreciate, and keeping my patients comfortable in the dental chair is my top priority. I am a member of the Ontario and York Region Dental Associations and I participate regularly in continuing education courses, in areas such as endodontics, cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery to best serve my patients.

When I’m not at work, I’m taking care of my two lovely daughters. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, working out, traveling and listening to music. I am very proud to be part of the team at Bur Oak Dental and am very eager to provide my patients with the best dental care for many more years to come.

Dr Amanda Wang

Hi I’m Dr Amanda Wang! I grew up in Mississauga and obtained my Bachelor of Life Sciences at Queen’s University. I then graduated in 2012 from the University of Manitoba and finally permanently moved to Markham. I have been with our Bur Oak family since 2014 😊

I enjoy providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages including but not limited to fillings, crowns, root canals and Invisalign. A large part of our patient population has seen me for their wisdom tooth extractions as well, where I offer oral sedation or nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to help make the treatment run smoothly.

I believe that continuing education is a large part of staying up to date in the ever growing field of dentistry. I am a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario and participate regularly as a member of Spears Education.

When not practicing dentistry, I really enjoy my quality time with my family. What keeps me motivated in life, is my love for travelling, experiencing different cultures, and tasting various cuisines. I’m always eager to try new recipes, so you’re welcome to share them with me!

Dr Joanna Huang

Hello! I’m Dr. Joanna Huang, I’m happy to join the Bur Oak Dental Team and I hope to contribute to its long-standing history of excellent dental care. I graduated as a dentist with honors from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. Prior to studying dentistry, I received my B.Sc. with honors in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Waterloo.I believe that patient education and disease prevention are the key components to great oral health and as such, I am always happy to answer patient’s questions about their teeth. I encourage patients to take an active role in maintaining their oral health and that includes flossing! My goal is to provide a comfortable environment in which we can create a beautiful smile for each patient. In my free time, I enjoy trying new foods and restaurants with my friends and family—just don’t ask me to cook!

Dr Clarence Yeung

Hi, I’m Dr. Clarence Yeung. I am an alumni of the University of Toronto. With my focus on comprehensive care, your oral health is my number one priority. A patient’s trust and time are valuable to me, so I promise that your best interests will not be overlooked at each visit.

As a group practice, we offer a wide range of dental services.  We will be able to discuss with you all possible treatment options to ensure that you have an understanding on which options are available, why they are available, and what to expect on the day of your treatment.  If you have any questions about our services, please ask me.

This community has been my home since my early childhood.  Because of the importance of familiarity, I have often encouraged a casual work environment where I can create a stress free office for my community.  Dental work can be stressful at times, so I will do my best to help mitigate any concerns through jokes and banter. At the end of the day, we are all human beings with genuine feelings.

Outside the office, almost all my attention is given to chasing after my son and corgi around the house.  I look forward each night to watching reality TV shows with my wife, so please ask me about our favorite shows.

Dr Isabella Kaminski

Hi, I’m Dr. Isabella Kaminski. I am delighted to be a part of the Bur Oak dental team that is made up of many outstanding dentists and staff. I completed my undergraduate degree in Health Science at Wilfred Laurier University. I went on to complete my dental degree at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine.

I am committed to providing an outstanding patient experience while creating and re-building smiles. It is important to me to provide excellent oral care by educating patients, explaining options, and answering questions. I value the importance of continuing education and keeping up to date with the latest research based dentistry. For some, visiting the dentist can be intimidating, which is why we work very hard to create a comfortable environment. In my spare time I enjoy travelling, swimming and spending time with my family.

Dr Dina Zahedi

Dr. Dina Zahedi obtained her Bachelor of Science (BSc) with honours in Kinesiology from McMaster University. She then completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and specialty certificate in Periodontology from New York University.

Dr. Zahedi joined GTA Periodontics in August 2019 and is also a part time clinical instructor at University of Toronto.

Dr. Zahedi enjoys pushing her limits with intense work outs which balances her amazing baking skills and sweet tooth. She loves to grow bone and utilize guided surgery for accurate implant placement.

Rose

Hello, my name is Rose,
I have been with Bur Oak Dental since March 2004 as the General Manager of all 3 of our locations. Since the opening of Bur Oak Dental in April 2004, I have had the pleasure of watching our Bur Oak family grow into a warm inviting team of dental professionals. I have enjoyed working in the Dental Administration field for 30 plus years and I have seen many wonderful changes. It still amazes me how a great dental team can improve a not so perfect smile and change that person’s life as a result.

You can find me at any of these locations where I am always happy to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have with your dental health, dental insurance or financial concerns.

When I’m not taking care of the Bur Oak Family, I like to spend time listening to music, relaxing on the patio in the summertime, catching a good movie or simply just spending time with my family and friends.

Hello, my name is Josie, I have been with the Bur Oak Dental Administration Team since August 2007. Since the opening of Bur Oak Dental West in February 2009, you can find me there as the office administrator and hygiene coordinator. I’m happy to assist you with your dental needs, scheduling your appointments and keeping you on track with your regular dental visits. I will try and answer any questions you may have regarding your dental insurance, treatment plans, and financial concerns. Hi, my name is Kim, I have been part of the Bur Oak Dental Administrative Team since September 2004. As part of the team, besides scheduling all your hygiene visits to keep your oral health on track as hygiene coordinator, I can assist you with any questions you may have about our office. Don’t be surprised to hear my voice calling you saying “Yes it’s that time again…come on in for your cleaning!” As an out-going person, I enjoying chatting with all our patients and making them feel a part of our family. I speak Spanish as my second language and in my spare time, I love to go to the beach, spend time at the gym and camping outdoors. Hope to see you soon!

Hello, I am Nadia, your Treatment Coordinator! I Joined the Bur Oak Dental Team as a Certified Level ll Dental Assistant around July 2012 and proud to have grown my experience ever since.

You can find me at all three of our Bur Oak Dental locations either at the front desk performing administrative duties or chair-side assisting the dentist.  I love being able to help others and my goal is to ensure that all patients are having a great experience in our care. Hello, my name is Yasmine, It has been a rewarding year for me since I joined this very friendly, warm and professional team at Bur Oak Dental in 2009. I am part of the administrative group making sure that your dental needs are taken care of professionally and all your questions are answered in a timely and satisfactory manner. Hi My name is Irene I am the account manager at Bur Oak Dental and also a receptionist since May 2017. I am able to speak Cantonese and understand very limited Mandarin.  I am a very out-going person and have a bubbly personality. I enjoy chatting with everyone with the hopes of making them feel like they are family and making their dental visit as enjoyable as possible. Hi, my name is Cindy Y. I’m a registered Dental Hygienist and I’ve been working in the dental field since I joined the Bur Oak Dental Team in 2008 and have enjoyed working here every day. My ability to speak English, Mandarin, and Cantonese helps me to communicate to a wide variety of patients. My mission is to help every patient have good oral hygiene and offer tips on how to maintain a fresher breath. I also strive to make every dental visit a stress-free and pleasant experience. Hi, my name is Ann-Marie, I am one of the newer faces at Bur Oak Dental and have been part of the team since April 2009. I graduated with Level 2 honors from Everest college 2008 as a Dental Assistant and I’m currently assisting Dr. Gupta on a daily basis. I’m here to help ease your chairside anxiety (if you have any) and make you feel comfortable during your treatment. Princess is a proud member of Ontario Dental Assistant Association. She has been a dental assistant for over 10 years. She is actively dedicated to obtaining the most current knowledge and applications in her profession through ongoing continuing education: IPAC,WHIMS,CPR, etc. in helping patients achieve their dental health care needs for optimal oral health.
Our patients and staff enjoy her bubbly and positive personality with a smile.
